Our Toll-Free Parent Talkline available Mon. - Fri. 9 am to 4 pm.
This line is for parents, step-parents and anyone who takes care of children. Whether it’s a teething baby or a runaway teen our caring, trained staff offer an empathetic ear. They may offer suggestions, alternative solutions make referrals or make the caller aware of local resources. The purpose of our Parent Talkline is to alleviate the pressures of feeling alone and isolated.
We offer 6 to 8 week parent education courses throughout the state of Maine. These classes offer age specific information to parents on communication, age appropriate discipline, raising self-esteem and co-parenting. Frequently, parents attending a class will want to continue their education by attending a parent support group. In some areas, we also offer classes for blended families, divorcing families and classes for parents who have been ordered by the court to attend.
Our confidential support groups are run by trained facilitator, parent leader and a group of parents or caregivers who have come to the group to help resolve conflict and learn how to foster healthy family relationships. Each group discussion is chosen by the members of the group. The groups are always confidential, safe places to share all the joys and challenges of raising kids.
